New Shanghai Sunrise Life Skills Program
The Sunrise Career Day is part of the new, extended, Sunrise Life Skills Program. Studying hard and passing your exams are not the only factors that may contribute to success in professional life. As conveyed by our speakers at Career Day, good knowledge of English, knowing how to put together your resume and how to present yourself in an interview situation are other aspects that may make you the right candidate for a job. To help our students get off to a better start, Sunrise is announcing its new Life Skills program.
The Program is aimed at both high school and university students and will include activities to improve studentsˇä self confidence and ability for their upcoming job search. In addition to the annual Career Day, activities will include an English corner, where students meet employees of one of our corporate sponsors to practice their English, tutorials on how to write a C.V. and cover letter, mock interviews and similar activities.
"The Sunrise students are more disadvantaged than other students. The family conditions are such that they get very little support from home and they usually have a non-existing or small professional network in the field they are studying, giving them only a limited idea of what their professional possibilities may be. We want to help give them a better perception of their potential and inspire self confidence for their future job search", says Bea Garcia, Sunrise Programs Director.
We are looking for contributors to our Life Skills Program. If your company is interested, please contact the Sunrise Programs Director Bea Garcia at sunrise.programs@gmail.com
