(September to June), per student.  This sponsorship fee covers the student’s educational expenses and may include school fees, textbooks, enrichment classes (Art, PE, Music), reference books and required newspaper subscriptions, school field trips, tutoring (if needed), mandatory student health insurance, and/or school uniforms. Depending on the school attended by the student the sponsorship amount of RMB3000 may not be enough to cover all educational expenses of the student; therefore, the student will need to find additional funding outside of Sunrise.

The basic sponsorship is for students in grades 10 through 12.   Sponsors are encouraged  to sponsor students for a minimum of 2 years to provide continuity in sponsorship.

Sponsors of this program can elect to donate a University Scholarship for 4 years.  The scholarship will be in the name of the donor.  Students that are selected for this program must complete the Scholarship Application and go through a rigid interview process.  The student must re-qualify each year for the scholarship.  The students are monitored and the program supervised by the Sunrise Scholarship Coordinator and Sunrise Director.

The RMB24,000 donation must be made in full so that continuity of the students’ education can be ensured.

Donations to the University Scholarship Program will be combined to make a full 4-year scholarship.  The Scholarship will be under Shanghai Sunrise instead of the donor’s name.

to enrich migrant schools’ libraries with additional books or other library related items. Sunrise works with schools already qualified by the Shanghai Sunrise Library Coordinator in the past. Sunrise has provided over 160 needy schools with libraries.

Donations in any amount are accepted by Sunrise and are used for funding of administrative expenses and student events.
